✨ About Nia Froslin

The Heart Behind the Kitchen

Hi there, I’m Nia Froslin—a mother to two incredible daughters and a lifelong lover of the kitchen. My journey with food began in the most ordinary way—cooking beside my own mother, Mama Esi, who, thank goodness, is still with us today and remains one of my greatest sources of inspiration. I was raised to believe that the heart of a home is the kitchen, and now that I have a family of my own, that belief has only grown stronger.

These days, I live with my family in Savannah, Georgia—a place as rich in warmth and history as the recipes I love to share. Though I run a restaurant professionally, everything you’ll find on niarecipes.com is crafted right here in my own home kitchen. Sometimes that kitchen even spills outdoors, where sunlight, laughter, and the scent of simmering herbs fill the air. It’s in those moments—stirring a pot while my daughters, Amara and Layla, chatter nearby—that inspiration strikes.

My husband, Malik, while dedicated to his own work, is a constant source of support behind the scenes—offering ideas, cheering me on, and even naming a recipe or two. And Mama Esi, who lives with us, still brings her wisdom, warmth, and incredible stews into our daily lives. It’s a blessing to cook side by side with the woman who taught me the meaning of food as love.

Real Food, Real Life

My aim is to connect with home cooks who find joy, comfort, and creativity in the kitchen. The recipes I share aren’t fancy restaurant dishes; they’re real meals, made with love, patience, and a touch of everyday magic. Whether you’re rediscovering your passion for food, looking for fresh ideas, or simply craving something that feels like home—I’m here for you.

Social media has become a beautiful extension of my kitchen. I love sharing tips, showing off a bubbling pot of stew, or laughing over a failed attempt that turned into something unexpectedly delicious. Cooking, for me, is about connection—to tradition, to the people we love, and to the parts of ourselves that flourish when we create.
